What is Lip Pigmentation?
Lip pigmentation is a semi-permanent makeup procedure applied to the lips. This procedure enhances the lips, making them appear more defined, vibrant, and fuller. Lip pigmentation is typically done in three different ways: lip contouring, inner lip coloring, and full lip enhancement.
How Long Does Lip Pigmentation Last?
Lip pigmentation lasts an average of 2 to 4 years. Over time, the color fades, and the lips return to a more natural appearance. As people age, the procedure tends to last longer due to slower cell regeneration.
How is Lip Pigmentation Done?
The lip pigmentation process consists of three stages:
-
Design Stage: First, a lip design that suits the individual's facial structure is determined. During this stage, the skin type is analyzed, and the pigment color to be used is selected.
-
Application Stage: During the procedure, a special PMU (permanent make-up) device and lip pigments are used. The device has sterile, single-use needles that deposit the pigments into the top layer of the skin. To maintain a natural look, the lines are applied individually, following the natural structure of the lips. In the initial stage, the pigment is not applied too deeply.
-
Second Session: The second session takes place 4-6 weeks after the first application. During this time, the healing process is completed, and the pigment fully sets in. Following post-procedure care instructions maximizes the longevity and benefits of the treatment.
